Question Five (Does the OTR time appear to be stable? Why or why not?)
As per the computed variables, the OTR time is not stable. There are number of factors
that are contributing to this. For example time cycle for the country codes does differ by a
significant margin. This has an implication that average values for the time cycle and the average
moving range are having significant differences. As evidenced on the attached excel file (the file
is summary of the computed values for average time cycle, average moving range, and the
confidence internal), there is a huge range of the confidence intervals across the country codes.
Statistically, the entire process of installation and OTR time is not stable hence this should be
considered when monitoring the entire installation process.

Indeed a control chart is necessary to determine if the manufacturing process or a
business process is under control or not (Poots & Woodcock, 2012). Data from the resources can
be used to predict profitability and performance of the business or manufacturing process such as
