SCENARIO:

You are a kindergartner’s teacher who is meeting with his/herparent to give an update on the child’s achievement. Your goal is toprovide a report that articulates what writing/language abilities can bedemonstrated through the student’s writing. You want to educate theparents on what they can do to support writing through languagedevelopment. In writing, identify the phonemic, syntactic, morphemicwriting abilities of the child. Be sure to include the samples used tosupport the report. Provide specific activities that the parents canimplement at home to assist with any deficiencies the student isdemonstrating. Your feedback should be specific and include phonemic,syntactic, morphemic abilities of the child. If no deficiencies arenoted, provide suggestions that will further increase the child’slanguage and writing abilities. The activities should explain exactlyhow to implement each activity. Describe at least two daily activitiesthat you will incorporate to support literacy for each area of writingability.
