It is suggested that the judicial branch (courts) is just as political as the executive (governor) and legislative (legislature) branches of Texas government.  Do you agree or disagree?

The United States government and the Texas government are similar in which both operate by separating the powers by dividing it into three distinct branches of government: legislative, executive, and judicial. While the legislative branch (House of Representatives and Senate) creates and passes laws (statutes), it is the responsibility of the judicial branch to interpret these laws and resolve legal disputes. When I first moved to Texas and went to cast my ballot, I had never seen such a large amount of positions in which I had the ability to choose who I wanted to hold that particular position; these included appointed judges. Coming from the State of Rhode Island, I knew that the Governor appoints state judges; more than half the states in the Union use this same practice. Although I believe that the judicial process is political in all states, in the state of Texas, considering that potential judges are selected by partisan election, I would agree that there is a political climate to holding a bench seat. Probably, even more, so considering that it is a vote of the citizens in the state. Even though Texas chooses their judges by a partisan vote, I do not necessarily agree with how it is done.

Consider this, a candidate for judicial office (judge) must select a party to represent (Republican or Democrat), if a voter goes to the ballot who may choose either side and may have little-to-no information on the judicial candidate, will favor that person because of party affiliation?
