Essential skills include numeracy, working with others and continuouslearning. This assignment requires you to write an 800 to 1,000 wordexploration reflection and plan for ONE of the followingthree options aligned to an essential skill:

• Option One: Money
• Option Two: Health
• Option Three: Leadership and Purpose

There are four steps to this assignment:

1. Review your Discovery Wheel from Week Two forthe essential skill option you have chosen (e.g., Money, Health, or Leadership and Purpose). Basedon the review of your Discovery Wheel, determine two key goals youwould like to achieve in the chosen essential skill area over the nextyear.

2. Conduct secondary research for the essential skill you have chosen aligned to the two goals you would like to achieve over the next year usingsix sources from the following:

• Three relevant articles sourced from the course textbook – Becoming a Master Student;
• Three sources from the resource link below which is aligned to the essential skill option you have chosen:

  • Option Two: Health – https://www.ryerson.ca/healthandwellness/
  • Option Three: Leadership and Purpose – http://www.studentleadershipchallenge.com/Resources.aspx

3. Write an 800 – 1,000 word Essential Skills Exploration Reflection and Plan with these key sections:

• Introduction – Thisshould identify the essential skill option chosen, provide a briefrecap of your review of your Discovery Wheel and name the two goals youhave selected for the essential skilloption chosen. Your introduction should also provide the reason you arefocusing on the essential skill you have chosen and the reason for thetwo goals you have identified. Finally, your introduction should includea brief overview of the rest of your assignment.(150 – 200 words)
• Key Findings -Highlight the key findings from your research from the six sourcesselected in Step 2 above. Be sure to demonstrate how your selectedsources support your planned development toward to two goalsyou have identified for the essential skill option chosen. (550 – 650words)
• Conclusions and One-Year Plan – Provide your overall conclusions and your one-year plan aligned to the essential skill option you have selected and the twogoals you have identified for the essential skill option chosen. (100 – 150 words)

4. Submit your completed assignment to the D2L Course Site Dropbox (A5: Essential Skills Exploration Reflection and Plan).
