From Community Oriented Policing to the tactic of Intelligence-Led Policing, new tactics and new methodologies are being developed daily. Right now, an officer out working the beat is working a new method that may change the face of policing as we know it. At the same time, technology is changing at a rapid pace, it was a short time ago that cameras in squad cars were being deployed into the field, let alone body cameras on the officers themselves – and soon to be recordings of multiple angles of the officer’s perspective.

In a 3-4 page APA formatted paper, research a new technology or tool being implemented by street officers and provide a summary. After providing a summary, use the tool you have chosen to answer the following questions.

• What are the potential benefits and negatives of the tool on the community?
• What are the potential benefits and negatives to the officer using the equipment?
• Discuss the financial cost of implementing the equipment for one police officer.
• Discuss the ethical considerations of implementing the tool.

In a 1-2 page paper, written in APA format using proper spelling/grammar, address the following:

• Write a summary about a crime that was committed in Minnesota and has been documented in a recent news story.
• Incorporate into your paper at least 20 terms from the Minnesota Judicial Branch: Glossary of Court-related Terms.
  • The terms you select should relate to what has happened or could happen during the judicial process.
  • Note: The task of incorporating 20 "legal terms" into your report should not be overwhelming. The terms listed are commonly found in any such report. Examples include: acquittal, appeal, arrest, bail, circumstantial evidence, complaint, felony, parole, and so on.
  • Identify the terms by formatting them as bold font so your instructor can easily discern what terms you are incorporating.
