Purpose:
This assignment will allow you to choose an article that you find interesting from the list of financial
periodicals (see additional link). You will share what you have learned from the reading regarding the financial
principle(s) presented. As you read the article, I hope you will begin to feel like you have a better understanding
of many of the terms and concepts being discussed. I want you to leave this class a more confident and wise
money manager.
What do I need to do complete the assignment? Be sure to follow these instructions:
1. (2 points) Write the full citation (reference) for the article you choose to write about at the top of the
page. The Article Review should begin directly below the citation.
Example of citation format:
Garraway, Jon. “Cards and College Students” Kiplinger 20 November 2000: 70-71. Print.
2. (14 points) Write an Article Review report on the article of your choice. The article should come from
one of the periodicals listed (see link below this one). It should deal specifically with a financial
planning topic we will cover in this class.
Include the following in your report:
1) A summary of the main points of the article.
2) A discussion about the purpose of the article.
3) Specifically, what stood out the most to you in the article?
4) Discuss how the main points of the article might affect individuals and families.
5) How do you plan to apply what you have read in this article to your own life?
3. (4 points) Use your best spelling and grammar on these writings as well.
