The Assignment for this course is to synthesize your findings by composing a 10-12 page evidence-based research paper supporting a stance of what constitutes a high quality early childhood mathematics program.Begin by selecting one of the following grade-levels (Pre-Kindergarten) for your context-based analysis.Focus on the Pre-K setting as a lens through which you will articulate your knowledge and understanding. Please follow the rubric very closely to get all the points across. My last assignment I received a grade that caused me to fail because the rubric wasn't followed. With a specific age/level (Preschool) learning in mind, you will address four “big ideas”. These should be included in respective sections:

• Teaching, Learning, and Assessment Strategies/Methods
• Mathematical Thinking and Reasoning
• What does “math literacy” mean in school? In society? What’s the role of equity? Access?
• What instructional opportunities and supports are necessary for young learners as they learn the mathematical process, skills, concepts, thinking and reasoning?
• How will you authentically assess mathematical learning?
• How will you create a positive mathematics learning environment that embraces a growth mindset for teacher and learner? What is the role of the parents? Community? Shared stakeholders?
• What is the role of technology in the early childhood mathematics environment?
• How do you embed thinking and reasoning in math activities and across the curriculum?
• How can the teacher serve as the catalyst for continued improvement of mathematics education?
• How will YOU continue to learn and grow as a math teacher while connecting with communities of practice to advance relevancy of early childhood mathematics.
