Directions:

Draft the Introduction to your literature review. The Introduction should include, among other items,

1. An opening sentence that describes the topic to be investigated
2. A description of the importance of the topic to the field
3. Asummary of the themes to be addressed in the chapter (the literature review).

Revise any draft pieces from the 10 Strategic Points related to the Literature Review that you created in previous courses. Complete criteria for the literature review draft are available in the most current prospectus template (I have attached).

Draft the Summary to your literature review. Among other ideas, the Summary should note

1. Conflicting information (tensions)in the existing literature
2. Omitted information (gaps) in the existing literature
3. How the study you are doing is new and different
4. How your study will add scholarly value to the Industrial/Organizational Psychology field.

My dissertation idea is how leadership styles influences team behaviors leading to employee retention or turnover that drives job satisfaction. This will be used to increase employee retention, build upon their skills and abilities, and make the business more sustainable. The main focus is increasing job satisfaction and employee engagement. I have attached some of the literature reviews for reference as well as the perspective that needs to be followed. I do not have a properly defined problem but I would like for it to include that employee development, engagement, and having the right employee in the right seat to do the job that will challenge and allow them to grow both personally and professionally, will increase their desire to stay with the same organization.
