Think of the best leader or manager you have ever known (or your ideal leader or manager) in nursing or another field. How did this person lead others? How did you feel working with this leader? What impact did this person's leadership style have on your future leadership?

Kouzes and Posner (2017) are favorites of mine in the realm of transformational leadership. They talk about five key practices:

• Model the way
• Inspire a shared vision
• Challenge the process
• Enable others to act

5.Encourage the heart

This is often described as the gold standard for transformational leadership. How could you apply this leadership style to systems based leadership?
