i need someone to response to the following paragraphs.

1- I cannot lie when I say, that this scenario truly throws me into a spiral as to what I truly believe. The best way I feel I can respond to this is almost through a stream of consciousness that runs through each situation. In the case of Socrates, he believed that despite his own dissent from the law – that he must still be punished for breaking it. To not be punished, would be to undermine the law and therefore weaken the structure of government and credibility of the law. Laws without consequence are truly no law, and that anyone willing to break the law must face the consequences.In the case of the colonists, they felt violated – that they had no place to turn and had to revolt. Their laws were not their own and that they were no longer giving consent to be governed. Civil disobedience is in fact violating the law – but to simply answer in a binary way of “yes” or “no” as to it being permittable is not something I can really do. I admire Socrates fidelity to principle, and yet I also admire the colonists stand against tyranny and injustice.We’ve as a country had many acts of civil disobedience, however history has been written by the victor (as the saying goes). In the case of civil rights for Black/African Americans as it relates to segregation and discrimination, civil disobedience was what helped progress us as a nation. But in many other cases, when the cause isn’t justified as a reflection of societal values, it is seen as a wrong move (think of Occupy Wall St.). So if I was faced with any situation where civil disobedience may be in play, I think what I would do would depend on if I’d be willing to face the consequences for my actions, regardless of the outcome, after fighting what I perceive to be an unjust law. If the answer is yes, then hopefully it is a good enough cause that others follow. If the answer is not, then I would abide by societal rules and laws. Because just because one person believes something is unjust doesn't make it so – something being unjust does.

2-The way I look at it, the government and politicians are simply human beings, just like the citizens in the societies they are governing. Therefore, it is not only highly possible but highly probable that they will make mistakes. No human being or group of human beings can truly be the authority on what is or is not just, because that varies situationally and from person to person. So naturally, many laws have been created in the past, are in effect in the present, or will go into effect in the future are not fair and do not result in a net positive effect on citizens, even if the intentions behind them are good. It is for this reason that I do not agree with Socrates' stance at all, and I feel that protest against government is a very important part of any developed society with a governing body. This is why I believe the American colonies revolting is held in such high respect in history – those who were faced with injustice chose to rise above it to create the government that they felt was the best for them. I believe that every human should be able to decide what conditions are best for them, as long as they are not causing harm to anyone else in the process.

3-I believe that we as people under a government are not obligated to obey laws that are unjust due to the simple fact that if it is not right, then we should be able to fight against unfair treatment. While what Socrates did was noble, accepting his fate and choosing to die instead of taking the many outs that he was given, I believe that he was foolish for acting the way he did. When comparing the situations between Socrates and the 13 colonies, who chose to rebel instead of accepting their fate, we can see why both chose to do what they did. Socrates chose to accept his fate and drink the hemlock because he didn't want to undermine the authority of Athen's government. His choice to do this shows the pride that he had in his government and even in the face of their unjust laws, did not fight against them. When looking at the situation of the 13 colonies, they chose to rebel and become their own country and run their own government and not accept their fate from the English government. Both of these situations are quite different, but if I was in either of these situations, I believe that I would choose to rebel. This is due to the fact that I don't have an attachment to the government like Socrates did, and value my own life more than the authority of the law, especially if the law is unjust.
