Planningand time management are beneficial for all aspects of one's life beyondjust the classroom. One thing that I have found that works is getting adaily/weekly planner and writing all of my due dates for my assignmentsin it. I found that by having an overview of when things are due, itallows me to better manage my time and effectively work on assignmentsso that that are finished on time. Time management is crucial to onlinelearning. Online learning is different in that though there are duedates for assignments, the reading and the bulk of the course isself-paced. This can lead to either not getting assignments done orrushing them if proper time management is not utilized. Another issuethat can arise, as stated by a student in the Student Experience andAdvice Video, is that because the discussions are online and not inperson it can make it hard to decipher the tone of a writer (LaureateEducation, 2012). For example, a person could post something that waswritten to be in a joking manner, however, when it is read by anotherthe tone of the passage may be taken as rude or condescending.Effective use of technology is the most important aspect of onlinelearning. The classroom and the university are brought to theindividual via the computer and the internet. By having proper usageand knowing how to navigate not only the online university but as wellas the offline computer programs can help ease the stress of being astudent. I recently bought a new computer and there were many thingsthat were different from my old computer. Had I not taken the time toget acquainted to these little intricate nuances, it would have madeschool more difficult.
