IAQ Scenario: An indoor air quality investigation has revealed the sample results (below) in an office setting where occupants are complaining of poor indoor air quality:

1200-1300 ppm carbon dioxide

62-78% relative humidity

.05 ppm formaldehyde (direct reading colorimetric tube)

253 – 312 counts/m3 total airborne mold spores inside

8,590 – 12,350 counts/m3 total airborne mold spores outside

Even though most indoor air quality guidelines recommend that the ventilation system be evaluated, such an evaluation has not yet been performed.

What conclusions can or can’t be drawn from these findings?
