The bounce rate is 40.9%. This means that 40% of the users leave after visiting the initial page that they landed on.

The other 59.1% percent of visitors visit atleast 3.11 pages and spend about 4:07 on the website.

About 35% of the traffic originated from Google. As a marketer, I would try to figure out why our bounce rate is so high. The page they are landing on must not be very appealing and could possibly use a touch up or optimization. Slow page loading is a primary reason people back out of a website.

From the data provided by the analytics, I would say it shows there’s not much growth. 0.8% increase in unique traffic Y/Y. If they are pushing hard into online sales and marketing I would expect this number to be vastly higher than that.

Utilizing TrafficEstmiate, I was unable to locate a bounce rate for the Harley-Davidson site. The bounce rate is determining which users visit the site and interact, versus the ones that simply take a quick glance and then close out.

• • Can you find daily pageviews and time on site numbers? Have they been increasing lately, or decreasing?

As mentioned previously, I feel that the numbers are stagnant. While they do seem to jump over the year, they are not consistent. Perhaps when an ad plays over the air or television it bumps the numbers, but they quickly revert to normal numbers.

• • How would you, as a marketer, use this information to create strategies for Web marketing?

I would certainly look at bounce rate to determine if users are staying on the site, meaning that the site is either getting interactive attention or falling flat. Then I would proceed more into how to grow the user base – in this case quite extensively. I may even higher a social media company to come in and increase traffic due to the poor Y/Y numbers.

Keywords for Harley Davidson seemed pretty difficult to target. Even the leading hashtag which I see plastered across their social media was completely absent when I googled it without the pound sign. #FreedomMachine is one of their leading social media tags but totally unrelated to them when the pound sign is not used. I did find Harley Davidson to pop up when searching for motorcycle and also 'hog bike'. Terms like street bike stayed more relevant with motorcycles like Kawasaki and Suzuki.

I was really shocked to not see Viking Range come up at the top of the list after searching my chosen keywords. The only two keywords that brought Viking Range up were ovens and ranges but that was after tapping the ?more results button several times. It was companies like Lowe?s, Home Depot, Sears that took the top spots.
