It is important to understand what you are selling before youcan craft messages to target specific markets. The marketing "P" forproduct defines the features and benefits of the product that explains why a customershould buy your product. Product (or service) strategy is a guiding step in theoverall marketing plan.

Your product line presentation to senior management will takeplace via video conferencing. You will need to prepare a PowerPointpresentation and an accompanying script in Word for the meeting.

Launching your Product

Your PowerPoint presentation and accompanying script willinclude the following:

·CompanyCompetition—Develop a SWOTanalysis to graphically depict your company’s current competition. Explain theSWOT in words.

·Segmentation—Consider who is interested in your product.Identify the type of customer groups interested in the product and why.

·TargetingCustomers—Based on the productoffering and customer segments, describe what customers segments you will serveand why.

·ProductPositioning—Determine yourpositioning strategy for the product. What image do you want to project to yourcustomers and prospects? How will you appeal to your selected customersegments?

oUse the 4Ps ofmarketing to help with this. For example, will we differentiate the price basedon quality and value? Where will we distribute the product? For example, isyour product distinctive, unique, or the best quality for the price? Write yourpositioning statement for the product.

·CustomerLifetime Value—How will you buildcustomer lifetime value for the company based on your product marketingstrategies?
