PART 1

1. Calculatedescriptive statistics for your main independent and other variablesyou have collected information on (example: demographic variables).
   1. Create a bar chart for the participants’ gender and ethnicity.
   2. Create a histogram for participants’ age.
2. Calculate descriptive statistics for your dependent variable.
3. Create a summary table of your descriptive statistics.
   1. Hint:For categorical variables, you should be calculating frequencies andpercentages; for continuous variables, you should be calculating meansand standard deviations.
4. Use one hypothesis-testing statistic that examines the relationship between your independent variable and dependent variable.
   1. Hint:This test should be one of the following—independent samples t-test,paired t-test, one-way ANOVA, or Pearson’s chi-squared test.
   2. Write the null and alternate hypotheses.
   3. What is the calculated statistic value?
   4. What is the p and critical statistic value?
   5. Is the p value significant? Is calculated statistic value greater than critical value?
   6. What is your conclusion?

PART 2——– Youwill take these results and put them into a written report, similar towhat you would write in your research methods course. However, thispaper will focus on the results and discussion of your findings. Forthis paper, include the following:

1. State the hypothesis you tested. This includes the research question and the null and alternative hypotheses.
2. Describe the variables you used.
3. Discussthe survey you used to collect your data. Did you run into any issues?Did you have to change anything? Include that survey as an appendix.
4. Detail your results. What statistical test did you use? Why? What did you find? Did you calculate the results correctly?
5. Include at least one table or figure we discussed in class for your statistics.
6. What do your results mean? This is the discussion portion of your paper.
7. Finally,was your null hypothesis rejected, or did you fail to reject it? Whatare the implications of your findings? Include sources that support yourimplications. This is your general conclusion on your findings.
8. Your paper should be between four and six pages in length (not including the cover page, references, and appendix).
9. UseAPA (6th ed.) format to style your paper and to cite your sources. Yoursources should be integrated into the paragraphs. Use internalcitations pointing to evidence in the literature and supporting yourideas. You will need to include a reference page listing those sources.
