For your analysis in this discussion, be sure to choose a different ethical theory from the ones you used for analysis in Units 2 and 3. Note: This will be critical for your course project.
- Choose one of the issues in research ethics in Chapter 5 of your Campbell text, and find a case study about it. Use the Coughlin resource, Case Studies in Public Health Ethics and/or the Center for Practical Bioethics Web site (linked in the Resources) to find a relevant case study.
- Using an ethical theory from Chapter 2 and a perspective from Chapter 3, analyze the case study.
Clearly identify the study you have chosen to analyze in your post, and include a reference. If your case study includes an analysis, you may use it as a resource to add to your own analysis as long as you quote, paraphrase, and cite appropriately.
In your analysis:
- State the facts of the case study as briefly as possible.
- State the ethical theory you are using.
- Add any perspectives you think are valid.
- Using the theory and the perspectives, come to an ethical decision and demonstrate how you arrived there.
