Discussion is fundamental to shared learning, so please be sure to participate early and often! After you have completed the Reading, and without reviewing your classmate's responses, post your initial response to the following Discussion. Your post should be at least 200 to 250 words in length and should extend the discussion of the group supported by your course materials and/or other appropriate resources.

Using the Library, search for articles that support your work. You can find peer reviewed resources in the library under a variety of databases, including PsyArticles. This will also help broaden your understanding of the topic being studied this week. After you have submitted your initial post, review some of your classmate’s posts and respond to at least 2 of your classmates. Refer to your Discussion Board Rubric in your Syllabus for specific grading explanation.

Cognitive Ability Tests

There is a variety of selection tools used by I/O psychologists to help their clients identify the best possible person for a job. Some are proponents of consistently using cognitive ability measures or personality measures. Others disagree with the widespread use of either. Here, please choose either cognitive ability measures or personality measures and critically analyze the debate on their use as a selection tool. You will need to include a discussion of pros and cons (at least two pros and two cons), as well as ethical issues. Then, you will conclude with your own personal opinion based upon your research. You will need to use the library to find scholarly journal articles to support your work (at least two journal articles are required).
