I already did the assignment but someone can help me improve my answers.

Here is the video of my professor:

1. Define "color-blind ideology." What kind of thinking is it, and when did it appear in American society?
2. Where do you see color-blind ideology in Gates case? Who is upholding color-blind ideology? Who is going against it?
3. How does the color-blind ideology affect the way people may view this case, and the consequences of this event?
4. How does the idea of color-blind racism affect/change your original opinion about this case? What does it tell YOU about your attitude and beliefs about racism in America?

The assigned reading "Racism without Racists" will help you answering these questions.

Since we are dealing with racial issues, I understand that we may all have different personal views on this incident, as well as the problem of racism in general. However, the purpose of this assignment is to make sure that we, as sociology students, have a clear understanding of sociological concepts such as color-blind racism and color-blind ideology that harms racial minorities, particularly African Americans and Latinos. I strictly base my grading on whether or not the answer clearly expresses the understanding of sociological ideas. If you have a personal opinion, you may include that in your answer, but before expressing your personal thoughts, you must show that you understand these concepts sociologically.
