CLASSMATE POST:

For this semester, I am going to focus on using Cooper as a general source for my findings. Although it is not a literature review, there are discussions of some past research. Cooper also goes into detail about using a token economy throughout interventions in the ABA field (Cooper et al., 2007). Cooper explains that a token economy can be used for many behaviors and utilized when an individual is working for a reinforcer (Cooper et al., 2007). It is also explained that the token economy consists of three main parts including, a list of target behaviors, tokens that the individual will receive, and a menu of backup reinforcers (Cooper et al., 2007).

Cooper even goes beyond just these details of a token economy and explains how there needs to be a certain criteria that is met in order to receive the token (Cooper et al., 2007). I have used this type of intervention in the past, as I have previously noted in past discussions, and it has been successful. When first implementing this, I also used Cooper as a guide to help be successful when running the intervention. I look forward to researching more about this intervention and using Cooper as a basis of my research.
