In addition, consider the emergency management capabilities of your own organization (whether public, private, or NGO). The purpose of this assignment is to explore the mission of these agencies and the scope of their capabilities, thereby determining the resources available to your community in times of crisis.

According to the assigned text, the impact of 9/11 and the poor response to the Hurricane Katrina disaster changed emergency management in the U.S. Based on the information discovered in Part I above, what have been some of the changes to the emergency management agencies in the local jurisdiction and “Florida” to include the public safety community in general? For example, have capabilities increased overall? Has access to grant funding changed? How about mutual aid agreements? Opportunities for training and exercising?
