Mitigating Greenhouse Gasses in operations is a strategic objective, Exxon is looking to reduce emissions and they have developed a three-part strategic plan to help them achieve their goal. Their plan incorporates short, medium, and long-term goals that are intended to keep the company aligned with their mission and value statements. Exxon’s strategic objectives are closely aligned with their financial strategies. One of Exxon’s financial strategies is to become more energy efficient. Pfizer uses the term “strategic imperatives to describe both financial and strategic options. One strategic objective is to “innovate and lead”. Pfizer long term plan is to continually innovate through research and development and maintain a strong reputation as a leader in the pharmaceutical industry. They plan on doing this by building a culture that fosters ownership and opportunity. A financial objective for Pfizer is to maximize the companies value. The path to maximizing the companies value is through smart investments and solid management techniques.
