Review and revise attached fiction story based on the Notes below, and make sure that the revised story is at least 1000 words.

• Hey,

I like the historical/fable approach and I think the best thing to get away from telling while preserving some of the interesting, and possibly necessary, backstory is to zoom in on certain figures interacting. This way you have both opportunities for imagery and political plotline.

The title is scary as it presumes a moral standpoint in which the means justify the ends. It makes me think you are already leaning toward a certain character or outcome and perhaps that is why the draft feels like an effort to get that information down–it is a draft after all, so this makes sense. I would, again, extend and display rather than condense and inform. It will be neat to see where you head with this!!

Please consider following: Revision means deep and large-scale reorganization, creation, deletion, and other similar overhauls of the work. Surface level editing is not revision.

At the end, Include a short 200 (minimum) word author note about the revision process for this piece, as well as the overall strengths, weaknesses, inspirations, and areas for growth you observe in this process.
