Replie to first topic:-

A Cautionary Tale is a story meant to warn the audience of a consequence for a certain action. From an organizational perspective, a Cautionary Tale is intended to warn employees about the negative impact certain actions can have on their employment or organization as a whole. Cautionary tales often present the cause and effect for an action in an organization.

For new employees who go through initial trainings for a new company, you are often provided with clearly outlined expectations and effects for failing to meet requirements. These new employee trainings which often seem so simple, mundane and often easy to skim through can provide you with the tools you need to prevent you from falling victim to a cautionary tale. How many times have you gone through these trainings and rushed through just to start working?

For example, I worked for an airline at one time in my life and while employed there maintenance staff were subject to random drug tests. I worked in the maintenance control office and unfortunately had to bear witness to an employee failing to follow this often told cautionary tale. Do not do drugs! We had to undergo extensive drug training and recertify each year on the topic. However, despite this drilled in cautionary tale an employee made a poor decision and lost him job.

Some cautionary tale consequences may not immediately result in a termination of one’s employment. Still the warnings must be heeded and necessary precautions put in place by the employee. Cautionary tales are there to provide value to our employment and our organization. Throughout our careers we will face multiple cautionary tales and employees must take these lessons and use them as tools to help them grow both as employees and individuals. Cautionary tales can also carry over from one place of employment to another, as the lessons are often helpful to successful completion of any role.

Reply to 2nd topic:-

Stories having moral lessons which warn people against specific actions or character flaws are examples of cautionary tales. They explain the consequences which follow to warn people of certain behaviors like greed. Cautionary tales always have a moral value to help people behave and live well with each other in society.

When a conversation is broken or when danger is ignored, one always meet a terrible fate which they can narrowly escape. The tale provides both moral values and warning signs of specific actions (Clark 2018, P.24). In any institution, there are rules and expectations everyone should meet and follow or face some consequences in the future. An example is where an organization’s leader steals money from the organization (Clark 2018, P.24). When such a case comes to be known, the person is most likely to lose the job or even worse end up in jail.

Every action in life has its consequences which a person should anticipate. If one starts taking bribes in any office, they know the consequences of their actions if they get caught but they decide to ignore it due to greed (Grajczonek & Truasheim 2017, P.176). In the end, they meet worse fate costing them even their lives. Cautionary tales tend to be scary where its main character meets an awful fate which in the end he or she narrowly escapes (Engelen, Fernandez & Hendrikse 2014, P.1083). Such figures are used as an example to teach the people of moral values and the consequences of their actions.

A human resource manager of any organization or company hiring employees by a tribe is putting his career at risk. People tend to do what benefits them more without considering the wellbeing of their neighbors or by ignoring the consequences which come after (Clark 2018, P.24). Warning signs are never supposed to be ignored, and everyone is responsible for their actions. Moral behaviors will also help an organization run smoothly and meet its goals.
