- Read Nevil Shute's On the Beach, chapters 1 – 4
- These pages cover the first half of the book. Use your active reading strategies to ruminate and annotate the important scenes and parts of the story as you read. Makes notes and references will help you return to those scenes and sections as you write about them and discuss them over the coming days and weeks.
- Complete Response Journal #8 (RJ8)
- This response journal is a formal, essay-style written response to this week's reading. A prompt is provided.

- Complete and Submit a draft of the VRP Annotated Bibliography
- Include all sources you plan to use for the VRP
- Follow the guidelines presented in the assignment sheet and lecture to find, evaluate, and write an annotation for each of the three (3) sources you plan to use for this essay. Complete this in a Word document and submit by attachment here.
- Read the Essay Two Assignment Sheet
- Take the time to carefully read over the assignment sheet and begin considering a text and theme for your topic proposal which is due by the end of this module
