Question Description
In this exercise, you are asked to do something kind for someone else without attracting any attention to yourself or taking any credit. The good deed can be small – picking up trash, putting money in an expired parking meter – and if it can be secret or anonymous, that’s even better. If done for a stranger, the stranger may see the deed but you should fade away as quickly and quietly as possible. If done for a friend or family member, the recipient should not know who performed the deed. You should not confess to your good deed.
In your reflection paper (1 page) , consider:
- Was it difficult to find a good deed to do? How did you choose whatever you did?
- Did you find that you wanted to be noticed or recognized for the good deed?
- What feelings did you have during this exercise? How would you explain those?
