Op-Eds are articles that appear in newspapers. They are typically opposite the Editorial Page which is why they are called op-eds. They are often written by community members, experts on an issue, politicians, people from non-profits, . . . They are opinion pieces.
For this assignment you are to choose a social issue that is important to you – gun control, housing, homelessness, addiction, fair funding for education, . . . You are to write a 750 word Op-Ed on this issue (citations and references excluded).
In a typical Op-Ed you would not use references or citations. In this Op-Ed, however, you are to use APA to cite your sources (for example if you mention statistics or trends) and in your references.
