Step Two: Your Snapshot Presentation should answer as many of the questions in 1 and 2 that are relevant to you, and it should definitely include problem-solving strategies from question 3. First, do some pre-writing to answer these questions, and then create an outline for your presentation. If you notice, the sequence of topics can help you organize your presentation.

1. Who Or What Is Your Greatest Educational Influence?

• Choose an individual whose educational path or experience you feel has influenced your own ideas about what it means to be a college student.
• Who is this person (friend, family, mentor, etc.)?
• How far did that person go in college? (high school, some college classes, associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, advanced degree?)
• Did that person’s college education lead to career in some way?
• What have you learned from that person’s experience with higher education?
• What about this person inspires you? What would you do differently?
• NOTE: If you can’t think of a particular person whose educational path influenced you, you could instead choose to discuss a particular experience that influenced your educational path or shaped your ideas about college.

2. Your Educational Autobiography

• Describe your education so far
• What kind of educational experience(s) have you participated in (public school, private school, location, etc.)?
• What has enabled your educational success when it comes to your education so far?
• What has been the greatest challenge to your educational success?
• Describe your most successful educational experience and what helped you to attain it.
• What are your fears about starting college?
• Based on your experience so far, how is college different from high school?

3. Describe at least three problem-solving strategies that you will use to avoid and/or cope with the pitfalls and distractions you may face.

• Although you have not taken an “Acting for the Camera” course, you are expected to maintain eye contact with your viewer and speak audibly with a minimal of pauses and filler (“like,” “umm,” ”you know”). Yes, you are allowed to use your outline to guide you but strike a balance between glancing at your script and looking at the camera. Be creative and have fun! If you choose to create an animation or other type of video that doesn't involve you presenting in front of the camera, make sure to make it engaging.
• Upload your video to YouTube. Please note: you might want to consider your privacy settings. If you do not wish to share your video with anyone outside this class, choose “Unlisted” from the dropdown menu when uploading your video. This will ensure that only those with the link will be able to view your video. • In order to make your video accessible, you will need to make sure that it is captioned correctly. After uploading your video to YouTube, you will need to wait for YouTube to generate automatic captions. This could take a while, so make sure to upload your video to YouTube a few days before the deadline so that you will have time to edit the captions. Once the automatic captions have been generated, you will need to edit them to add punctuation marks and correct any errors. SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:

After uploading your video to YouTube and editing the automatically generated captions, you can copy and then paste the link to the video in a discussion post to this assignment.

Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to create a brief video presentation explaining how your educational influences and formative educational experiences have shaped your attitude towards college. In addition, the assignment asks you to think critically about your college experiences and consider strategies to address obstacles to degree completion.
