Companies often face a situation in which there is a businessopportunity or need that requires more resources than are availableinternally. When this happens the company may decide to pursue theopportunity by considering sourcing solutions.

PPI finds itself in this situation. PPI is pursuingthree new IT projects designed to improve business operations, but hasneither the staffing nor the expertise to handle them all in-house. Theywill have to rely on another division of PPI or an outside consultingservice for some or all of the upcoming projects.
