POST 1:

1/ Statement of the problem: Approximate the mean and standard deviation of a variable from grouped data

3/ I arrived to this solution, first I read the section in the book, than I practiced the example in my notebook to understand better, so when I did this homework is like the application for what I have done before. In my notebook I computed first the sample mean using the the data moving to the second part which is the sample standard deviation where the first part found is needed.

4/ Like usual I start reading the chapter in the book, I do some examples in my notebook for practice, this is my method that I use to deal with with those problems. I can't say it's easy, not even hard, but it takes time to compute all those numbers, sometimes I can't even read those long numbers.

3) In homework 5 problem 3.4.5, if one looks at the problem above one can see that if a 34-week gestation period baby weighs 2900 grams, which equals to x. 41-week gestation period baby weighs 3200 grams. so for week 34 i take 2900-2600=300/600=0.5 Than for 41 week x= 3200. So 3200-2900(mean weight of 2900 grams) and divide by 430 which is the standard deviation in grams. So 300 over 430 is 0.7.

4)I followed the example help problem in the homework and it also is in the book at page 148. This problem was explained perfectly and easily. Thank you and have good.
