1.Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states "Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control" (Universal Declaration of Human Rights, 1948).

Although we do have the right to medical care, it does not mean that everyone will go out and get it because the problem of affordability is still a barrier. Yes, there are government funded health care coverage to assist those in need, granted they meet the eligibility requirements, but there are still those who are above the low-income requirements and still struggle financially to afford necessities. Some argue that the opportunity to receive health care and coverage is there, but when you are struggling financially you will choose to buy food for you and your family as opposed to purchasing health care insurance.
