1) DISCUSSION POST

Week 11 – Discussion (my degree is business management)

Imagine you have completed your bachelor's degree at Strayer and you are searching for a job in finance, accounting or business. Using various employment websites (i.e. Monster.com, Indeed.com, USAjobs.gov) find three (3) careers in finance you are interested in applying. Be sure to specifically address why you are interested in the career, what qualifications you have or many need to get this position, and where do you see yourself in this career long-term. Be sure to cite the website where you found each career.

2) PEER REVIEW (KEORIA)

The three careers in finance I am interested in applying are: certified public accountant, financial analysts and a credit analyst. Certified public accountant helps individuals, businesses and organizations plan to reach financial goals. I chose this an option because I love helping people reach his or her goals. I am really good a finding the right solutions to bring success. A financial analysts recommend investments opportunities. I think I would be good in this role because I like helping people to show where he or she should put their money into. Especially people that have a lot of money. I will find the right fit to secure long term wealth. Credit Analyst gathers financial data about clients and guide clients in where they need to go after the collection of data. Most of this jobs require a bachelor’s degree and experience on the jobs. Certifications requires so many hours and continue education. In any of these careers, I will find myself working with small business and larger businesses helping them succeed short or long term goals.

1) The first role I found was for a Financial Analyst at Cook Children's Health. I have twenty years in the Healthcare field and feel that my analytics and Healthcare background would be a great fit for this position.

2) The second role I found was for a fraud analyst. This sounds like so much fun! I love digging in data and finding savings or anomalies so I think this would be really interesting.

3) The last one I found was for a financial analyst for but for an airline, which is not a field I have ever worked in before so this sounds like a refreshing change for me and I feel that I have skills that would be transferable.
