Title: County weighs ban on pit bulls: Haire offered suggestion last week

After receiving multiple complaints from free-roaming animals and a couple of pit bulls attacking a family pet, the suggestion was raised to the Daviess County Judge, Reid Haire to institute an outright ban on pit bull terriers. They and the members of the animal control board disagree with such measures however, and they are of the belief that a ban is unnecessary and will do little to help. Of course, I agree with them, and even though pit bulls are over-represented in animal bite statistics, the classification of "pit bull" is problematic in itself. Several studies have concluded that any dog with typical physical characteristics of a pit bull is identified as one regardless of the actual breed, and the term "pit bull" itself refers to several different breeds. There is a thin line between ensuring public safety and stripping rights away from citizens, such as a dog ban would do. Aside from that aspect, there is just the underlying ethical problems with deciding an entire breed of dogs do not deserve to exist based on the actions of a few of their members.

The citation games provide a great feedback mechanism when it comes to learning how to create citations properly. Through the citation games, I have learned to cite references for music recording, and television broadcast or series episode.

Citing sources prevents an individual from being incorrectly accused of plagiarism, but more importantly allows a writer to prove his/her argument or point is based off of and well-backed by sources. It allows the reader to seek further clarification and information from where the author got the background information. Sources should be cited any time information that is either directly correlated to a reference, directly quoted, or a point from a source is directly drawn.
