Instructions:

For this CRR you will (1) complete a Google Doc annotation of the On Marx & Marxism reading, and then (2) answer the CRR questions below. For those of you that prefer a required word count, write a minimum of 350 words total (meaning, when you answer all the questions your word count should be at least 350 words).

Google Doc Annotation

For the On Marx & Marxism reading, you will complete an annotation using Google docs in which you highlight the key concepts listed below and then define them in your own words. Step 1: Download On Marx & Marxism. (pp. 30-46Preview the document) (It is the first file )

Step 2: Upload the PDF to Google Drive/Docs

Step 3: In the Google Doc, highlight the following key concepts in the table below and define them in your own words using the comment function (similar to what you did with the syllabus review & annotation assignment).

Step 4: Retrieve a sharable & editable link for your document and paste the link into your CRR word document or Google Doc (depending on your submission choice).

CRR Questions to answer:

1. What types of educational processes would you identify as "obscuring and ratifying existing power arrangements" (Levinson, p. 15)?
2. How do Tuck and Yang define settler colonialism and how is it different from and/or implicated with other forms of colonialism (internal, external)?
3. What does it mean for decolonization to be used as a metaphor? And why is this problematic for Tuck and Yang?
4. Why do Tuck and Yang (drawing on Patrick Wolfe) describe settler colonialism as a structure and not as an event? What does this mean and how does it help us understand the idea that decolonization is not a metaphor?
