This willhelp you identify your analytical problem that you will eventuallyaddress using analytics. The analytics problem statement will be anintegral component of the remaining activities in this course.

Ensure that data are available to address your business problem. Youwill need to provide your dataset as a part of the Topic 3 assignment.If using data from your company, ensure that proprietaryconcerns are addressed or approvals to use the data are obtained.If there are concerns about proprietary issues related to usingcompany data, you can change your dataset accordingly.

APA style is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.

Now that you have identified the business problem and translated itinto an analytics problem, you can now identify the data needs andacquire the data.

Provide a 500-1,000 word paper that, at a minimum, identifies thedata needs in terms of the following:

1. What is needed? Be specific for each variable (e.g., MonthlySales last 12 months, Number of Monthly Customers last 12months).
2. How can the data be obtained? When can the data beobtained?
3. For each data variable, identify the specific type:Are they measured data (continuous, e.g., how long does a customerstay in the retail store?) or counted data (discrete, e.g., how manycustomers came to the store from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.?).
4. Also,assess whether the available data can be used to address thespecific analytics problem statement identified in the Topic 2assignment.

Provide the raw data that you will be using for subsequentassignments. Place the dataset into an Excel file. Ensure that columnheaders are provided that clearly identify the meaning of each datavariable. As needed, provide the necessary information in the file sodata values can be interpreted. If there are concerns aboutproprietary issues related to using company data, you can changeyour dataset accordingly.
