Assignment #2 Instructions:
First, please review the OPT Template (attached).
ForAssignment #2, you will design a n OPT Phase I Stabilization programfor your Personal Training client the same client you began training inAssignment #1.
Indesigning this OPT Phase I Stabilization program, you will follow theguidelines provided by NASM (be sure to review your text and otherresources available to you). In addition, you will design apersonalized program for your personal training client based on the testresults of their Fitness Assessment, strengths, weaknesses, dailyhabits, and, of course, their individual goals.
Assignment #2
Aspreviously stated, this is the beginning –and now the continuation- of aprogramming plan that you will be creating for your client. Theprotocol that you develop now can serve as a blueprint for your futurework as a Personal Trainer or Coach.
Forthis assignment you will be responsible to provide the followinginformation regarding your client’s OPT Phase I Stabilization program:
- Background of your client
- PhaseI Stabilization program Including: Cardiorespiratory trainingprotocols, SMR & Flexibility training protocols, Core & Balancetraining protocols, Reactive training protocols, Speed Agility Quickness(SAQ) training protocols, and Resistance training protocols.
- Narrativediscussing why you chose specific training protocols for your clientand how your choices will help your client reach his/her training goals.
- Completed OPT Template (Refer to Chapter 10 of your text book)
Inaddition to the above, the narrative should include a brief backgroundof your client, their goals, the findings of the initial FitnessAssessment & review of postural/movement issues, illnesses, previousinjury, or medication precautions, goals & and an idea of the typeof training schedule they will maintain.
Pleasesubmit your assignment using a combination of narrative & anycharts/graphs that you think are appropriate (see attachments). Be sureto provide a detailed (and appropriately referenced) rationale for whyyou have chosen each one of your exercises (based on the items from theFitness Assessment from Assignment #1).
Inthe OPT Template, be sure to include sets, reps, tempo, rest, andpertinent coaching tips & instructions. As well, in the narrative,please detail your program and the rationale for each of the variablesmentioned above.
Formatting
Thenarrative of your paper should be at least 3 – 6 pages. Any charts ortables you add will add to this. Using charts and tables will help toprovide visual guidance as to your client’s health status and yourthought process. Please support your rationale for using any and all ofyour assessments with appropriate academic sources (minimum of 3 +textbook = Minimum 4 References).
The writing component must meet all rules of APA formatting (6th edition) and MUST be submitted in WORD document format only.
