ETM 430 Design Project of Chapter 4: Design an Office Facility for a Medium-Size Company Option 1: Three students work as a team to finish the following design project: A company needs to build a new two-floor office facility for accommodating its 100 employees in a remote area that is not served by public transportation. Assume that, among the 100 employees, the company has one president, two vice presidents, one secretary and five managers. You are assigned as the facility planners to design an efficient and effective office facility. The design task is allocated in such a way Student 1: Design and layout one employee parking lot and finish a document justifying in terms of efficiency and effectiveness your choices on the sizes of individual parking spaces, the size of the overall parking space, the accommodation of the handicapped, the entrances and exits, the walk ways, and the relative location to the office building Student 2: Design and layout the areas for personal belongings, restrooms, food services and first-aid services and finish a document justifying in terms of efficiency and effectiveness your choices on their sizes, locations, relative locations to other room and accommodation of the handicapped Student 3 Design and layout the office rooms for all the employees, a lobby on each floor, a conference room on the first floor and an elevator and finish a document justifying in terms of efficiency and effectiveness your choices on their types, sizes, relative location and accommodation of the four handicapped After the individual students finish their works, they need to combine their designs and works together to finish an overall, coherent design and a finalized report Scoring rubrics: Each individual design is worth 100 points; the overall design and the finalized report 100 points the whole project 200 points in total. If students 1, 2 and 3's designs get 75, 80 and 85 points and the overall design and report got 80 points, the students 1, 2 and 3's final scores are 155, 160, and 165. Option 2: If you want to work on this design project all by yourself, you need to finish two individual designs and justifying documents. Thus, you can possibly win 200 points in total.
