1. Anthropological fieldwork requires the anthropologist to think critically about his or her own cultural practices and beliefs. He or she must be able to reflect upon personal beliefs and values and have those beliefs and values challenged. Choose an issue we have studied in class and discuss how your own beliefs and values have been challenged. Remember you must cite at least two course readings in your essay.

2.Imagine that, much to your surprise, you have woken up this morning to find that you are the opposite sex. Describe how your life will change from this morning on. What do you imagine will change in your life as someone of the opposite sex? Discuss what might change in your relationships and communications with others, your access to resources, expectations about your roles in society and the family, and expectations about appropriate behavior. Remember you must cite at least two course readings in your essay.
