For this assignment, you are to play therole of MDPD Director Melanie Duncan. You have been assigned the task ofcreating the organizational structure for the planning and execution ofthe security and public safety component of the DRNC special event.Your memorandum should be addressed to U.S. Secret Service AssistantSpecial Agent in-Charge (ASAC) Samantha Salerno, who has been appointedas the Lead Federal Coordinator and Chairperson of the DRNC SecuritySubcommittee.

At a minimum, your memo must include the following:

• An organizational chart that illustrates the structure of the public safety component of the DRNC
• Theorg chart must abide by the principles of the National IncidentManagement System (NIMS) and the Incident Command System (ICS)
• The organizational structure that you construct should take into account all claimant stakeholders, and it should address the concerns related to all the influencer
• The organizational structure must specifically identify the Unified Command elements including:
  • JOC (Joint Operations Center)
  • JIC (Joint Information Center)
  • IOC (Intelligence Operations Center)
• Anarrative that clearly describes the organizational structure that youhave devised, explaining your rationale for your decisions.

Yourreport is important because it forms the basis for the organization andplanning for the entire DRNC event. A properly formulatedorganizational structure will increase the likelihood of inter-agencycooperation and coordination. A poorly constructed organizationalstructure will likely increase uncertainty and chaos, and it couldcreate unnecessary conflict. Everything is in the attachment.
