"Employees’ Development" Please respond to the following:

• Assess the benefits of two types of development activities that would affect employee performance within a management training program.
• From the scenario, determine two effects of employee development.

The first would be cross-training and/or rotations. Individuals have specialties, but working in all facets of the industry provides broad perspectives, understanding and mutual respect. Two things come to mind, at Verizon there was a slogan ‘any tech, any dispatch, anywhere’, providing cross training develops a robust team not dependent on one individual. Benefits are efficiency, economics and knowledge. Positive impact on performance can be gained through ‘special projects”, providing individuals to participate, share and give expertise and insight on specific needs – also building relationships between a variety of co-workers and vendors. Two effects from employee development; training and employee developments are benefits from narrowing the organizational gap allowing a fresh look on situations. Similarly, a Warrant Officer in the military has a variety of skills, jobs, experiences and hands on knowledge, however they hone in grooming newcomers and providing expertise in specialized areas.
