PREPARATION 1. Select an organization(STARBUCKS)Select an organization in which current events (REMOVING TWO BLACK MENFROM A STORE IN PHILIDELPHIA) have adversely affectedproductivity, requiring management toresolve an issue related to:corporate culture, managing diversity, leading teamwork, anddeveloping motivational strategies. Theorganization will be STARBUCKS.

2. Plan your researchUse research from the course textbook, company website, businesswebsites (CNBC, Bloomberg, etc.),resources from the Strayer Library,or outside resources to develop solutions to the following questionsasthey relate to corporateculture, managing diversity, leading teamwork,and developing motivational strategiesto achieve the organization'sgoalsand objectives. Your recommendations must be fully articulatedand supported with appropriate detailand sources. Note: Wikipediaandweb-based blogs do not qualify as credible resources.

INSTRUCTIONS Imagine yourself as the task force committeeleader at this organization. You have been tasked with analyzing hindrances toorganizational efficiency. You must propose strategic solutions.

Create a full report in which you do the following:

1. Describe theOrganization and the Issue to ResolveProvide a brief description of the organization you selected.Presentthe organizational issuethat adversely affected productivity and thatyou, the task force leader, will reviewand resolve.

2. Analyze Current Corporate CultureHow has the current corporate culturefacilitated the development ofthecurrent issue? Research the organization, dig into the culture, andanalyze how it contributed to thisissue. Hint: Review the mission andvision statements as well asthecorporate website.

3. Identify Areas of WeaknessWhat are the organization’s areas ofweakness? Using your researchonorganizational behavior approaches to corporate culture, diversity,teamwork, and motivational strategies,identify areas of weakness.

4. Propose SolutionsWhat organizational practices would you modify? What solutionsshould your task force recommend tomanagement? As the leader ofthetask force, identify the suggestions you would present to theorganization’s leadership with regard tomodifying currentorganizationalpractices to resolve the issue.

5. Prepare an Executive SummarySummarize your recommendations andresearch findings in aone-pageexecutive summary that you will present to the CEO in anupcoming executive meeting. Note: Anexecutive summary is acondensedversion of your full report. It should summarize briefly allthe main points in concise paragraphs.It should be written clearlyandshould use language appropriate for the audience.
